Climate & Clothing
Ireland enjoys a moderate maritime climate. The weather in Dublin during the summer is usually pleasant (15 – 20 degrees °C). Light rainwear is recommended.

Currency & Banks
The currency is the EURO and banking times are 10.00 – 16.00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Banks are open until 17.00 on Thursday. Banks are not open on Saturday or Sunday
Language
English is the predominant language in Ireland and is spoken by all. The conference language is English.
Passport & Visa
Non-EU nationals may require visas. Information on exact requirements should be obtained from your local Irish Embassy, Consulate or Tourist Office.

Electriticy sockets take 3 prong square pin plugs. The electrical current in Ireland is 220 volts, 50 Hz.
Shopping
Most shops and department stores are open from 9.00 – 18.00 Monday – Saturday, with late night shopping on Thursday to 20.00/21.00. Sunday opening is 12.00 – 18.00 for most but not all. Shops and Retail stores do not close for lunch. Major credit cards are widely accepted.
Time
Ireland is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is one hour behind Central European Time (CET) and five hours of U.S. Eastern Time.
Tipping
It is common to add a 10% tip to a bill in restaurants, except when a service charge is included.
Transport
Dublin is served by Dublin Airport, which is approx. 10 kilometres (6 miles) north of Dublin City. Competitive airfares are available from many international airlines Information on airlines flying to Dublin can be found on the Dublin Airport website.
Dublin Airport is approximately 40 minutes by taxi from the City Centre. Approximate price range for a taxi trip is €20-30 one way.
